Previously unreleased Los Lonely Boys live recording captures the Texas trio’s early beginnings steeped in blues roots.

Prior to selling millions of records, touring with Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana, and the Rolling Stones, and winning a Grammy for the hit single “Heaven”, the brotherly trio of Los Lonely Boys was just another bar band playing small stages across Texas hoping to someday get their “big break”. In late summer of 2000 the band secured its first ever show in Dallas at a “Stevie Ray Vaughan Birthday Jam” presented by Blue Cat Blues, a local venue. Kevin Wommack, the band’s manager called the venue to ask if they would take a chance (sight unseen and unheard) on three young brothers from West Texas – his heartfelt words, “I know you will love them” somehow struck a chord and, with a leap of faith, the boys were added to the show. The rest, as they say, is history.

The boys’ jaw-dropping performance that evening was captured on Los Lonely Boys - Live at the Blue Cat Blues (Blue Cat Blues Records), a rare collection. Recorded live in an intimate club setting, the CD exhibits the explosive energy of Henry Garza's guitar playing in contrast to the smooth harmonizing vocals of a young band of brothers primed and destined for success. The twelve-track disc contains nine previously unreleased songs, several off which, have since become staples of LLB’s live stage shows.

In an era of overly produced radio mixes, this no-frills, no gimmicks bluesy blend of good old rock n roll is a refreshing alternative and offers a bonus backwards glimpse into the early development of Los Lonely Boys’ unique signature sound that they call Texican Rock and Roll.   Incidentally, the performance presented in its original form was recorded at Blue Cat Blues the day after the passing of the Boys’ grandmother. The entire set that evening was dedicated to her memory. Los Lonely Boys – Live at the Blue Cat Blues is a unique collection of unadulterated raw emotion.
