 teenage engineering is celebrating ten years of the pocket operator through a series of initiatives: a dedicated anniversary site packed with rare footage, an anniversary shop and an invitation to join the second installment of the #PO10DIY contest.pocket operator what started as an idea to grow the synth population has today earned their spot as the world’s most affordable and accessible music machines, making their way into hundreds of thousands of pockets—and counting. made up of just a bare circuit board, an lcd screen and a handful of knobs, these tiny machines proved that size is only half the story, becoming cult favorites for anyone and everyone who loves music. anniversary site a new website page where you’ll find rare, archival footage chronicling ten years of pocket operator, an anniversary shop and the #PO10DIY contest and much more. pocket operator project #PO10DIY 2025 not only marks ten years of pocket operator. it’s also the jubilee of the first-ever pocket operator diy contest. ten years on, and it’s time for a second round. participants are tasked with coming up with creative yet useable ideas, designs and videos for the pocket operator. from off-beat setups to custom cases, the decision is entirely theirs! winners (gold, silver and bronze) get their hands on coveted pocket operator prizes, with submissions closing on 3rd of april and winners announced on the 10th of april. new price to sweeten the celebrations, we brought down the price of the PO-12 rhythm to what it was always meant to be; an impossibly cheap $49.
