Hi Every one, I am getting intermitant dropouts in sonar. They occur randomly. Some times on projects with only 3 tracks. Some times, I may be running projects
with more tracks with no dropouts. My system is a Dual Core 3.2 giga hurts system. MSI with intel 945 chip set. 2 seagate 200 gig sata drives.
2 gig ddr 2 kingston ram. Windows xp pro service pack 2. Mackie onyx 400f using asio driver in sonar 6.2. Buffer size set to 192 in the onyx control pannel.
IO buffers set to 128 in sonar. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Jay,

It could be a number of things... have you gone through the checklist on this site to optimize WinXP... www.musicxp.net

Try that first and go from there...

Hi Jason,

Have you tried using WDM drivers instead of ASIO? That can make a difference because not all drivers are created equal. Sometimes ASIO works better, but then other times WDM might work better. It depends on the product and how well the drivers were programed.

Switch to WDM and click the Wave Profile button to reprofile your can and see if that helps...
